Savvy Cindy & Good Neighbors Spreading the Word
It all started when we got a phone call from Cynthia Fashbaugh–a resident of the Colorado Lake Cooperative Mobile Home Park. Savvy Cyndi had been keeping her eyes open for rebate programs for ductless heat pumps. Gretchen met with Cyndi, discussed possibilities, and said, “There’s a great non-profit in town, Seeds for the Sol, who love helping folks like you find the funding they need for various weatherization projects including installing energy-efficient heat pumps would you like to meet them?” Being a good neighbor, Cindy quickly asked, “Can I let my neighbor know?” And the rest was history! We were invited to talk to the community about heat pumps and rebates. From one neighbor to another, the news spread and we were able to connect 6 residents with high-efficiency ductless heat pump systems and 1 ducted heat pump system all for little to NO COST!
Success on Sycamore Street
Hannah Haun was the 3rd neighbor on Sycamore St. to track us down. She had heard from 2 of her neighbors about huge rebates we were able to connect them with to install their ductless heat pump systems. Hannah had done her research and was already connecting with Seeds for the Sol for help with much-needed weatherization assistance in their WWII era home. This was our first collaboration with Seeds for the Sol, so we were feeling our way through the process. “Are you willing to be our test-case?” we asked Hannah, and she, thankfully, agreed to walk through the process with us. A couple signed Energy Trust of Oregon forms and site visits later, we installed their new system at NO COST to the Haun family! Hannah spread the news to a couple neighbors. So far, we have installed 5 ductless systems on Sycamore St. at little to NO COST to our customers.
